Choose to Be a New Creation in 2024

We look to the New Year as a time of renewal, and it can be.  When you are in Christ, any time is a time of renewal.  To be a disciple of Jesus is to be a new creation.  “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

In Christ, our innocence is continually renewed as we seek to faithfully follow Jesus. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”  (1 John 1:7)

In Christ, we are transformed by the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2).  We see the world more and more with love that is like God’s as we imitate Christ more closely.

In Christ, we come in weariness to our good shepherd, and he renews our spirits and restores our souls (Psalm 23:3). “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  (Matthew 11:28)

In Christ, we know our bodies will someday be made new, never to die or grow old.  “For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.  When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’"  (1 Corinthians 15:54,54)

Be refreshed in 2024.  Choose to be a new creation.  Choose to be in Christ.

“For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” (Galatians 3:27) -Paul
