Be Humble
It has been said that the longer you live, the more you learn to laugh at yourself. Learning to laugh at yourself is a good sign, because it shows that you’ve learned humility. Learning humility is a great accomplishment, because humility is essential to a right relationship with God.
C.S. Lewis said, “As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.”
If you want to be humble, it’s helpful to know what humility really is. Being humble doesn’t mean that you don’t see your own worth. It means that you recognize the worth of others. Being humble also means that you don’t think your ways are better than God’s.
So, take an essential step toward a healthy relationship with God. Be humble. Hold your fellow humans in high esteem, and trust in the Lord with all your heart.
“What does the Lord require of you but do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8) -Paul
